That’s Gross Science Lab Review

by Wren on November 22, 2013

I love the holidays and finding the perfect gift for everyone. I sometimes have the hardest times finding something for boys. They really like different things and sometimes just weird stuff, I am a girl so anything a boy likes is weird. I joke, but they really are very different from shopping for girls. So this year I am thankful that SmartLab is helping me out with my shopping list this year!

They have so many neat kits and I really love science, it is something that I have always had a lot of interest in and so do my kids! So when I came across That’s Gross Science Lab I knew this was something I had to try out! I also figured boys would get a real kick out of it, and boy was I right [Pun intended]! I will be honest, my oldest daughter LOVED it too. Though I imagine she will become a scientist so being able to do experiments was really her highlight! So I would not dub this purely a boy present, but most girls are not into gross stuff.

There are 26 “super-gross” experiments in the 24 page lab book. I think one thing we really enjoyed was the mixing toilet, the laughter that came from that was endless. Some of the experiments are so gross, even the names just scream “GROSS!” It was so much fun doing the experiments from typical household items.

There are some really interesting molds included: maggot, barf & centipede. It is all craziness and grossness! You can do experiments like Gooey Pooey, Popping Poo & Yellow Snow! My daughter and I had many giggles when making some of these and I think “Gross” was yelled on more than one occasion.

This is a great gift for any boy or budding scientest on your holiday list this year. It is a lot of fun and something that you can do with your kids or with the kid you purchase it for. Perhaps older adults would love it, I know I did!
