On February 12,2013 Shout! Factory Kids and Nerd Corps Entertainment released Slugterra: Return of the Shane Gang. This is the first DVD Collection based on Nerd Corp’s highly popular animated action series. There are 5 episodes that are sure to keep your children entertained. In this DVD there are also bonus content including the intro with the show creator and story editor and three bonus animated slugisodes. Inside each DVD there is a unique code for extra value on the online game Battle for Slugterra.

Eli Shane wants to be the best slugslinger of them all. In order to do this he will have to collect and train an army of the little critters called slugs. When the slugs are shot out of a blaster at 100 MPH they turn into a powerful beast ready to battle. I found this to be a really neat concept as my daughter loves shows that have cute little critters that end up battling, and in that I end up buying a lot of action figures and the like. We follow Eli as he and his team known as the Shane Gang as they explore underground caverns of Slugterra, challenging rivals and themselves to duels with their slugs. During all of this Dr. Blakk is becoming a real threat trying to turn slugs into “Ghouls”. This causes the slugs to become very powerful, but in doing so makes them nearly impossible to control. Until know no one has stood up to Blakk and his powerful ghouls.

My daughter found the show to be extremely entertaining and has watched it on several occasions. I know for me it means its a good show, and I hope that all of you feel the same way!

Episodes Included:

  • The World Beneath Our Feet, Part 1
  • The World Beneath Our Feet, Part 2
  • The Trade
  • The Slugout
  • Deadweed
