Scholastic- The Halloween Stories Collection Review & Giveaway!

by Wren on October 22, 2013

As a Mom I am always on the lookout for holiday movies that are family friendly. During Halloween I know this to be a bit of an obstacle, but there are a few options out there. One option is Scholastic Story Treasures The Halloween Stories Collection.

In this collection you receive 3 DVDs with a total of 14 stories in all!

The Day of the Dead

  • The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything
  • Kitten’s First Full Moon
  • Fletcher and the Falling Leaves

Dem Bones

  • Dinosaur Bones
  • Hush Little Baby
  • The Fox Went Out on a Chilly Night
  • The Erie Canal

Teeny-Tiny and the Witch-Woman

  • The Boy with Two Shadows
  • Los Gatos Black on Halloween
  • What’s Under My Bed?
  • King of the Cats

So with the main story you also get a few extras! The stories are not scary so any little one even the most sensitive about being scared should really enjoy them. I think it is great that they also have great morals to the stories.

Probably one of my favorite parts is that you can read-along with the stories. My daughter has struggled with reading so having her able to read along is a huge highlight in helping her read better and sometimes learn new words all together!

These stories really teach children to appreciate music, bravery, and being creative. I think these are important traits for kids! Bravery is something that a lot of kids need during Halloween with all the scary decorations.

Scholastic is a company I trust for books and DVDs with my small children!
