PMD Personal Microderm Review

by Wren on December 15, 2012

I have been fairly lucky in the fact that I have decent skin. I get a blemish from time to time and I do have a bit of a blackhead problem, add that with oily skin. I wash my face 2 times a day and exfoliate a few times a week. It seems to keep most of my issues in check. Though I have always wondered about Mircrodermabrasion, but I do not have the money to go to a place and get it done regularly.

That was till I knew you could try it at home! PMD Personal Microderm is a great product! It does cost a bit of money up front, but the price pales in comparison to weekly/bi-weekly visits to a dermatologist to have it done. The quality is just as good as having a professional do it, and you get to do it in your own home!

It is VERY important, and I cannot stress VERY enough, to watch the DVD all the way through and follow the direction. I have come across people who do not like the product, but my guess is they did not follow the directions. This product is AMAZING.

After the first use my skin was a little tender, but by the next morning it was glowing and looked great! I used it again about a week and a have later and it was not as tender as the first time and the results were great. My face has never felt better, and I have PMD to thank for that. I felt myself walking with a little more confidence because of my skin feeling and looking so fabulous.

The PMD comes with 6 discs, 4 green discs & 2 blue discs. 2 of the green one are larger and that is meant for the body, and one of the blue is larger as well. It is great for those trouble areas that are not on your face. There is also 2 caps one for the small discs and one for the large ones, a wall charger, and an instructional DVD & booklet. Everything you need to get started!

Using the PMD is fairly simple, first you have to wash your face to make sure all oil and makeup have been removed. When you have made sure your face is dry, pick the disc of your choice and put the cap that goes with the disc on the unit. Make sure it is on their well, it needs a tight seal to have the appropriate amount of suction. You want to use your fingers to keep your skin taught and keep the unit moving at all times. You never want to hover in one spot.

When going around the eyes make sure you are below the cheekbone and above the eyebrow as your eyes have very sensitive skin around them. Once finished you want to be sure and use a good face lotion as your skin will need it. Keep in mind for the next few days your skin is going to be extra sensitive so keep that SPF on your face!

Personally I love my PMD and never want to go without it. I no longer have to exfoliate 2 or more times a week, instead every week and a half I just pull out my PMD and give it a treatment and I am good to go. My face is smooth and seems to glow all the time. I see my pores minimizing which is a huge thing for me and when I get that rare blemish, the redness seems to go away quicker then ever before.

Have any of you ever had a professional Microdermabrasion? How did you like it? Think a PMD might be for you?
